Squid Game: Season 1, Episode 5

Episode 5 of *Squid Game*, titled **“A Fair World,”** dives deeper into the dark side of human nature. The games are still deadly, but this time, the real danger isn’t just the challenges—it’s the players themselves.

After the intense and emotional **Tug of War** in Episode 4, **Seong Gi-hun** (Lee Jung-jae) and his team are still shaken but alive. They pulled off an incredible win against a stronger team, thanks to teamwork, smart thinking from **Oh Il-nam** (Oh Yeong-su), and quick decision-making by **Cho Sang-woo** (Park Hae-soo). But now, they have to face the aftermath.

As the number of players continues to shrink, the tension rises inside the dormitory. At night, the lights go out again, and everyone knows what that means: another brutal fight for survival. Gi-hun’s group sticks together and prepares for anything. It's becoming clear that in the Squid Game world, no place is truly safe.

What makes this episode especially disturbing is the growing corruption behind the scenes. We discover that some of the guards and staff are secretly working with certain players to sell the organs of the dead contestants. This shocking twist adds a new layer to the story, showing that even in a place built on “fairness,” there’s still greed and betrayal. One of the guards gets caught helping a player cheat, and the consequences are deadly—for both of them.

Meanwhile, **Detective Hwang Jun-ho** (Wi Ha-joon), who snuck into the game facility disguised as a guard, continues his secret investigation. He’s searching for his missing brother and uncovers more disturbing clues about the people running the game.

The title “A Fair World” feels ironic, because this episode shows how unfair and cruel things really are—both in and out of the game. Players are starting to break under pressure, and trust is harder to come by. Even **Sang-woo**, who was once calm and clever, begins showing signs of desperation and coldness.

Episode 5 keeps the suspense high and prepares viewers for even more intense challenges ahead. It reminds us that in *Squid Game*, surviving the games is hard—but surviving the people around you might be even harder.
